This franchise has changed names multiple times, but has always stayed in either New York or New Jersey. Now in Brooklyn, it feels like this team has found its home. The awe-inspiring Barclays Center is definitely one of the NBA's coolest venues and will likely be rockin' on any given game night.

The Brooklyn Nets joined the NBA in 1976 and quickly began experiencing success, making 5 consecutive playoff appearances from '81 to '85. Their success was limited, however, as they never made it past the conference semifinals. Riddled by injuries and mismanagement, the Nets saw a general decline in success until the 2000s.
Several player acquisitions (Kenyon Martin, Richard Jefferson, Jason Kidd) propelled the Nets to elite status. In 2002, the Nets finished the regular season at 52-30 and were a shoe-in for the playoffs. After several exciting games, the Nets found themselves facing Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O'Neal, and the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA Finals. They were swept in 4 games.
In 2003, the Nets found themselves in the playoffs again. Posting a 12-2 record, the Nets repeated their trip to the NBA Finals, this time against the San Antonio Spurs, who eliminated the Nets in 6 games.
Brook Lopez and Deron Williams led the Nets to the playoffs in 2012-13. They played the Chicago Bulls in the first round, but failed to take home the win in game seven. Look for them to make some noise in 2013-14
